William Beckett (by Sara Feigin) The Academy Is.. was one of the first bands I’d ever heard of on my own. Almost Here was my go to album in middle school for anything I was ever going through. When I heard The Academy Is… would probably not be a band anymore I was devastated. But when FBR announced their 15th anniversary show I waited with my fingers crossed for the news of a TAI… performance. And I got what I wished for and more. The band played Almost Here in whole plus a few other songs. It was amazing to hear and be there to witness a real life time-warp type thing. I felt like I had gone back in time to 7th grade, and I couldn’t be more excited, especially because I knew most of the people around me felt exactly how I did.
