Ellie Goulding is a 23-year-old British singer-songwriter. She taught herself how to play the guitar at the young age of fifteen and continued this hobby into her current career. After moving to London and signing to Polydor Records in 2009 she worked hard to record and write songs for her album. Her first studio record, Lights was released on March 1, 2010. Ellie has been rapidly gaining attention including topping a BBC poll showcasing rising new artists. She also won a Critics’ Choice Award at the 2010 BRIT Awards, as has famous Grammy winner, Adele. The song posted above is her second single “Starry Eyed”. It shows her music’s interesting genre of synth pop influenced by folk. Her songs may make you want to dance around your room.
