Brighten consists of three members: Justin Richards, Alex Draper, and Jimmy Richards. Fewer band members definitely does not equal less talent for this band. This band is extraordinary in more than one way. Their much anticipated EP, Be Human, was just released March 23rd, less than a week ago. Be Human is far from a disappointment and fans are more than satisfied. Yet again, Brighten delivers lyrics that makes every girl’s heart melt. Their romantic lyrics plunge you directly into a compelling love story similar to those you only read in fairy tales. “Where We Belong” is an upbeat track that results in a guaranteed huge smile on your face. Think “skipping-through-the-park-on-a-sunny-day-and-giving-everyone-high-fives” kind of song. My personal favorite track on the EP is “Be Human.” The track has some folk influence and the lyrics are stunning. The recording of “ I Lost Her” is a beautiful but depressing slow love song. In “While the Fire Was Out”, Justin teams up with a mystery girl to create a pretty duet that gives the song a chilling mood.  

So lets sum it up shall we? 

Beautiful Romanticized Lyrics. Check. 

Just freaking fantastic music in general. Check. 

3 awesome dudes doing what they love. Check.
