INTERVIEW WITH ERIC HALVORSEN, BASSIST OF A ROCKET TO THE MOON!
Sara: How’s your current tour been so far?Eric: Our current tour has been awesome, we’re with Mayday Parade, Sing It Loud, and Sparks the Rescue, they’re all good friends of ours. So we’re all enjoying that very much, the shows have been awesome, we have been playing in some new places and some old ones that we’re all pretty excited about. We get to play Iowa City, which is like everyone’s favorite place to play. Iowa City is a college town in Iowa, it was fun.Sara: You guys have been basically touring non stop since the summer what’s that been like for you guys?Eric: Pretty exhausting, but we have been fortunate with all the tours we have had.  We’re very fortunate to have the schedule that we have. We’ve net awesome fans and have gotten to tour with bands we have before. We’ve been gone for nine months out of a year but with good people so it’s not that big of a deal.Sara: Do you have any plans for the summer?Eric: We’re working on that right now trying to figure out something, but nothing exactly. We don’t know exactly what we’re doing yet, but we’re working on stuff right now.Sara: If you could switch instruments with anyone in the band who would it be and why?Eric: Good question, probably Andrew. I don’t want to be a drummer, I just want to be able to play the drums. Being a drummer, I feel like it’s to much more difficult with everyone else to take care of everything so much more. I’ve always wanted to play drums. Help me Andrew.Sara: If you could tour with any artist who would it be and why?Eric: Death Cab would be awesome. I would love to see them every night.Sara: Who are your biggest musical influences?Eric: I listen to a lot of different types I guess. My favorite bands I like Death Cab, Metric, I like Manchester Orchestra a lot. Growing up my dad was way into music so I’d say he was a big influence for sure, just because whatever he would listened too I would obviously listen too and be into, just because he’s my dad and whatever he was listening to I thought it was cool. That’s definitely a big thing. Blink 182 got me into playing music, gotta give them some credit.Sara: Do you have plans for another album anytime soon?Eric: Not really, well I mean we have been talking about it lately but that’s just the beginning stage. Just laying down the writing, who we would want to do it with but no serious plans yet.Sara: If you could be a super hero which super hero would you be and why?Eric: I’d probably be Luke Skywalker just because I could have the force. I think it would be the best thing to have.Sara: What’s the craziest thing a fan has done to get your attention?Eric: I don’t know really, um, I can’t think of anything period I guess. I haven’t had that many crazy encounters I guess. Some girl jumped on The Maine’s bus one time banging on the windows while we were moving out. That’s not directly related to us in any way though.Sara: Do you have any other comments you would like to say to your fans?Eric: Come see us on tour if we’re in your town or anywhere near you. If you haven’t already gotten our semi-new record, On your Side, and thank you for everything you guys have done for us.
